Simplify, standardize and harmonize
The objective of the EVRoaming Foundation is to facilitate roaming services for charging electric vehicles and provide transparent information to consumers about charging locations and prices, by use of the open and independent Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) protocol. The ultimate goal is to allow any EV driver to charge at any charging station in the EU: simplify, standardize and harmonize.
The EVRoaming Foundation manages and maintains the OCPI protocol and ensure its free availability. The foundation is not limited to OCPI and can also support other related activities and services.

OCPI v2.3.0 EU National Access Point (NAP) extension released
The EVRoaming Foundation released the OCPI National Access Point extension, which is free available for download, via the OCPI download page and link below.
This OCPI v2.3.0 extension is created together with support of and funded by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Waterways (I&W), and together with the Dutch NAP (Dot.nl) and the members of the EVRoaming Foundation OCPI developement group
This OCPI NAP extension is developed to support:
- NAPs to get via a unified way the required NAP data from the CPOs.
- CPOs to share in all EU countries via the same way the required NAP data with the NAPs
- European Commission to ensure that both CPOs and NAPs can fullfill their required AFIR regulations and delegated and implementing acts.
An OCPI NAP test tool + conformance certification, will be available mid October. That way both the correct OCPI NAP extension AND the correct completenes of the data can be tested and certified.
