Price transparency is an essential precondition to realize careless cross-border charging in Europe. Ideally, prices are imediately clear to the EV driver at the charging station, prices between providers are easy to compare and ad-hoc payments are made possible. Unfortunately, this is not the reality at present. In order to gain insight on the steps that still need to be taken, NKL presents an introductory overview of the main regulations, challenges and opportunities regarding price transparency in five of the most important EV markets across Europe.
